(Mar. 23, 2010) — The American Center for Lawand Justice will be filing a legal challenge to the health care billpassed by the House of Representatives on Sunday and signed by Obamatoday.
According to Jordan Sekulow, Director of InternationalOperations at the ACLJ, the non-profit organization is seekingplaintiffs from all 50 states and plans to file the suit in districtcourts across the country.

H.R. 3590, The Patient Protection andAffordable Care Act, to give it its full title, is rammed full oftax increases which will further economically cripple Americans alreadylaboring under the worst financial crisis since the great depression.
The partnering Reconciliation Act, currently in the Senate, alsocontains a raft of pork barrel and tax hikes, there to fund thetrillion dollar cost of nationalizing medicine.
As reported by Bloomberg News today, analysis by the nonpartisancongressional Joint Committee on Taxation reveals that the bill willgenerate $409.2 billion in additional taxes by 2019.
In addition, the Congressional Budget Office states that the billalso levies almost $69 billion more in penalties for those who fail tomeet mandates to buy insurance.

(Mar. 22, 2010) — Reaction to thepassage of the health care bill by the states ranged from nothing tothe promise of a lawsuit enjoined by other states against the Congressfor overstepping its constitutional authority.
The Maryland attorney general’s pressperson seemed surprised when asked if the attorney general would beissuing a statement. The only response was “No…no.” New Jersey’s AGwill not be issuing a statement. The North Carolina AG’s press contactsaid that the AG “is thinking about it.” The phone lines wereoverloaded in Georgia and Maine, and no one answered at all inMassachusetts.
